Welcome to Spark Academy—I’m so glad you’re here.
I created Spark with a passion for helping every child feel confident, supported, and able to thrive in their own unique way. Whether a child is in mainstream education or has additional needs, we believe learning should be adapted to suit the individual, not the other way around.
At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to providing a nurturing, flexible approach that meets each child where they are and helps them move forward with confidence.

My Story
From the very beginning of my career, I’ve been driven by one simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
My journey into education started early, working hands-on with children as a teaching assistant and nursery nurse. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of how children learn, grow, and respond to support at different stages of development. Wanting to build on this foundation, I went on to complete a degree in Psychology, specialising in cognitive psychology, with a particular focus on how we can improve children’s learning through text comprehension. My dissertation in this area was later published—something that further strengthened my passion for evidence-based approaches to education.
Following this, I completed my PGCE in Primary Education and worked across the full primary age range. Much of my time was spent in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), where I developed a strong appreciation for the importance of early learning experiences. I also took on responsibilities supporting senior leadership teams (SLT), which gave me valuable insight into the wider educational landscape and the systems that shape children’s outcomes.
Throughout my career, one thing became increasingly clear: while schools work incredibly hard to support all learners, not every child’s needs can be fully met within a traditional classroom setting. I saw children who simply needed a confidence boost, as well as those who required more personalised, flexible approaches to truly thrive.
It was from this understanding that Spark Academy was born.
At Spark Academy, our mission is to provide flexible, inclusive, and high-quality education tailored to each individual child. Whether a child is at the very beginning of their learning journey or preparing for GCSEs and A-Levels, we are committed to supporting them every step of the way. Whether a learner needs after-school support, a full home education package, EOTAS or alternative provision, we are here to help.
Alongside this, I am passionate about building a strong, nurturing team of tutors who share this vision. Every tutor at Spark Academy has been personally selected by me. I take great care to ensure that each member of our team not only meets the highest standards of teaching quality, but also shares our core ethos: that every child is at the heart of everything we do.
We believe education should adapt to the child—not the other way around. By building strong relationships, nurturing confidence, and tailoring learning to individual needs, we aim to unlock every child’s potential and help them truly thrive.
